Understanding the geological context of a fossil is an important part of identification and recording. LBPS brings together information about geological formations, members and fossil-bearing horizons associated with the localities and specimens recorded in our database.
Our initial geological focus is the London Basin. As the Society and database develop, we intend to add geological information from other fossil-bearing areas and geological ages across Britain.
